As we embark in this weeks blog, my desire is to bring further understanding to the “Big Why” of Faith Builders International. In saying that, it is imperative that you know that Faith through Jesus is our foundation. Last week we stated that Faith is a lifestyle, and this week we want to look at Faith as our foundation. Through the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus, we can rest in His Good News (the Gospel) and recognize that Faith is not only our lifestyle but our foundation. Faith is the bridge between earth and heaven when we communicate through prayer.
The bible says in Hebrews 11:1 “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.”
I like cookies and the substance in cookies that makes them taste good is sugar. If you were to take sugar out of the ingredients, cookies just would not taste right. We would say, something is missing or lacking. The sugar is the “substance” that makes cookies good. For believers Faith is the substance that allows us to believe that even in tragedy God causes us to be triumphant. I have faith to know that Jesus in me is more than enough, even when I may not see enough around me yet. We must “see” the provision of God first in our hearts so that we can then see it with our eyes. Whatever you have need of, see it, before you see it, in order to see it. God wants our hearts before our intellect.
As new covenant believers through the finished work of the cross we have the ability to SPEAK, BELIEVE, and RECEIVE the will of God for our lives with confidence. This ministry is established on a foundation of Faith through Speaking, Believing, and Receiving.
The bible says in Mark 11:23 in the New King James Version:
“For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says.”
- Mark 11:23 NKJV
God is not far from us, but rather He is in us. Through Jesus and the empowerment of the Holy Spirit, God gives us the ability to speak, believe, and receive. Romans 10:17 in the NLT says:
“So faith comes from hearing, that is, hearing the Good News about Christ.”
- Romans 10:17 NLT
Faith comes to us through hearing the Word of God. Now lets break this down in simple terms. Reading the Bible out loud, so you can hear it allows Faith to grow in your heart. When you go to your church and hear your Pastor preach the Word of God, Faith grows. The Gospel is the Good News of Jesus. This is the message that people need to hear that will cause Faith in God to be established and grow. We know, we are called as a ministry to support Churches, Pastors, and Leaders as well as to build faith in individual lives through communicating the Good News of the Gospel in many methods and platforms.
As we launch Faith Builders this fall, we do it not in our own strength but in the strength of Jesus; recognizing that we are saved by Grace through Faith. We invite you to join in on this great journey as our vision is clear and our mission is sure. To build faith, restore hope, and extend love everywhere we go.
