Over the past three weeks we have been discovering some great truths about Faith as our lifestyle, foundation and freedom. I could keep the series on faith going, but as we are teaching the Big Why of this ministry I want to move on to the topic of hope and discover how hope is “our vehicle”.
Faith is the fuel in the vehicle of Hope that takes us from one season to another. In life we all go through seasons. Some good and some not so good. Hope is like a vehicle that drives us but faith is the fuel that keeps the vehicle moving forward. Have you ever felt burned out? Weary? Discouraged? I am sure your answer is yes. We all have been at some point. One of the main reasons why we get burnt out in life, is because we fail to recognize that a brighter day is coming and faith fuels us while hope drives us to it.
Have you ever seen a beat up car that doesn’t work anymore sitting on the side of the road or at someone's house? The inside of the engine isn’t working and the car is not able to start. It is an absolute mess. The outside of the car is rusted out and looks weathered and beaten down. Many of us at some point in life have been in situations where we feel stuck and broken down, like we just can't move forward, just like this vehicle. Our internal engine doesn’t start with excitement and our outer expressions reflect how we feel inside. It is in this season the devil wants to steal, kill, and destroy you. Do not let him do that. Through life's up and downs we have stalled out and have just gone through the motions. Many have lost hope for a better day and a brighter future due to a divorce, a bankruptcy, a loved one passing away or many other circumstances.
As a child, I grew up without a relationship with my father. I lived in a poor area of Orlando where gangs and violence were an everyday occurrence. I had a disease in my right hip that left me in the hospital for 2 years, having to endure multiple surgeries. I had a stepfather who was abusive to my mom and I, both verbally and physically from age 14-18. I’ve had family members die and more….I had every right to give up long before now. My life was in shambles until one day someone invited my Mom and I to church. We attended the first week and the following week we became followers of Christ. Even in the very moment when I felt like giving up, Christ made ALL THINGS NEW in my life. In that moment of salvation HOPE was restored and FAITH was established in my heart and I’m forever grateful to our neighbors who realized what we needed, and invited us to church that day.
The bible reminds us in Jeremiah 29:11: "For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope."
This ministry is called by God to help restore hope and help people understand their future is found IN Christ. Without Christ your spiritual engine will die but IN Christ you will succeed even when you feel that you may be failing. We are intentional as a Ministry in helping people take the broken pieces in their lives and mend them back together through hope and faith and the power of God's Word. This ministry will never just speak a message of faith without speaking on hope. We will never speak on hope without speaking on faith. Faith and Hope work together. You cannot have one without the other in your spiritual vehicle. It is our desire to declare that a life WITH Christ is far better than a life without Him. Faith Builders International desires not only build your faith, but simultaneously see hope be restored in lives all over the world and that includes YOU!
My prayer for you today is that you begin to recognize that your future will be much brighter than the darkest days of your past and that you will see the Hope of God rise up in you. I pray you realize today, you are more than a conqueror IN Christ Jesus and there is nothing that can hold you back from receiving all of God's love and many blessings for your life. Remember today that HOPE is your spiritual vehicle and FAITH is what fuels it in moving forward in life. We Love you all dearly.
