“For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve others and to give his life as a ransom for many.”
Over the last 6 weeks we have been laying the foundation of Faith Builders International. As a ministry we are determined to Build Faith, Restore Hope, and Extend Love to both the church and unchurched. It is our desire to demonstrate the Gospel in many ways, one of them being Extending Love. We believe as a ministry that the love God has demonstrated through Jesus’ death, burial, and resurrection is the greatest demonstration of Love known to humanity. While others may think God is upset with them, we demonstrate a much different message, one of his love, through acts of kindness and communication of good news. It is this love that must be received individually by having a relationship with Jesus, which then becomes our mission to share this love with others. Faith Builders International is committed to preaching, teaching, and demonstrating the love of God to others as our mission. Everything we do as a ministry will always invite people into a relationship with Jesus. We are demonstrating the Gospel locally and globally through partnering with missions and charitable organizations. Over the next few weeks we will outline how you can be a major part of Extending Love, by partnering with us. We will join together as a team to demonstrate God’s love to those who are being impacted by pediatric cancer, along with other missions opportunities God has opened the door for us to serve in.
Many of you may be facing some of the greatest trials of life and may be wondering how can I focus on extending love to others when I myself need God’s love the most. When Gavin died I felt as if any life inside me I had also died. I know what it feels like to feel stuck and to just “go through the motions” of life. I want to encourage you that the love God has for us runs much deeper than any emotion or a feeling. God’s love to us is a fact. Jesus death, burial, and resurrection was an outward expression of love to humanity, to restore us back to God and it is this love that compels us to tell others. Once we experience and know God’s love our mission becomes very clear. It is not a suggestion but a command that Jesus gave us as Christ followers before ascending to Heaven to sit at the right hand of God.
“And then he told them, “Go into all the world and preach the Good News to everyone.”
-Mark 16:15 (NLT)
He gives us two commands in this passage, go and preach. Many Christ followers look at this scripture and think it is for those who are missionaries or those who go to foreign countries. Although that is true, it is also much more than that. We all have a world we live in. It is our workplaces and our communities. There are those who do not know Jesus right now in your world. The second command is to preach. Many say I am not a preacher. I don’t know how to communicate. The word preach here doesn’t imply you get a platform and a microphone to stand in front of people to talk. The word preach here means to proclaim or announce. So, Jesus is commanding us to go into our world and proclaim or announce the best news anyone could ever receive. This can be demonstrated one life at a time.
Allow me to encourage you today that whatever you may be facing or working through, it is God’s love that was demonstrated on the cross for you that will move you from anxiety into peace, fear into faith, and hopelessness into hope. The love God has for you was expressed by Jesus dying for YOU. Through this action of love we now have access to freedom and peace. Faith Builders International is committed to letting love be our MISSION, both locally and globally. Lets join together as team and express this love to others. We look forward to inviting you in the upcoming weeks to partner with us to express love as our MISSION.
